Grah Gochar March 2027: Dates and 12 Rashi Effects

March 2027 untangles February's retrogrades: Mercury turns direct on 3 March, while Mars, still retrograde, slips back into Cancer, joining exalted Jupiter and Ketu in the same sign. On 15 March the Sun enters Pisces, joining Saturn, and Kharmas begins again, until 14 April. This page covers the major planetary transits (grah gochar) in March 2027, with dates from NavAstro's chart engine, what each one means, and the effect on all 12 rashis.

Mercury turns direct (3 March)

Mercury's retrograde, which began on 9 February, ends on 3 March at about 26ยฐ40' Capricorn. On 12 March it moves forward into Aquarius again. The delays of February in communication, paperwork and travel start to clear; contracts and launches are better placed from mid-March, once Mercury is back in Aquarius and moving at normal speed. It enters Pisces on 5 April.

Mars moves back into Cancer (9 March)

Mars has been retrograde in Leo since 10 January. By NavAstro's Lahiri calculation, late on 9 March (about 11:50 pm IST; some other calculations put it just after midnight on the 10th) it moves back into Cancer (Kark), the sign of its debilitation, turns direct there on 1 April at about 26ยฐ40', and returns to Leo on 26 April.

A debilitated, retrograde Mars can show up as frustration, restlessness and quarrels, and as delays in property and legal matters. But in Cancer it shares the sign with an exalted Jupiter (closest around 28 March) and Ketu, which meets Jupiter exactly by degree on 1 March (about 25ยฐ27' Cancer). In traditional interpretation, the company of an exalted Jupiter may soften Mars's debility, though it does not by itself cancel it; the result depends on the full horoscope. The Jupiterโ€“Mars combination is traditionally called Guruโ€“Mangal yoga and associated with initiative and purposeful action, but here Mars is both debilitated and retrograde, so its results depend on planetary strength, house placement and your own chart. Channel the energy into steady effort rather than confrontation, and keep new property or legal moves for after 1 April if you can.

Sun enters Pisces: Kharmas begins (15 March)

On 15 March the Sun enters Pisces (Meen), Jupiter's other sign: Meen Sankranti. While the Sun is in Pisces, from 15 March to 14 April, it is Kharmas (Meen Malmas) again: weddings, griha pravesh and other auspicious beginnings are traditionally avoided, and prayer, charity and study are encouraged. It ends when the Sun enters Aries on 14 April (Mesha Sankranti).

If you have a wedding or housewarming to plan in spring, use the first half of March, or wait until after 14 April. The Muhurat Finder shows the exact dates for your city.

Saturn combust (from late March)

As the Sun moves through Pisces it catches up with Saturn, and the two are closest on 7 April. Saturn is combust for several weeks around that date, but the dates depend on the method:

  • By the 15ยฐ rule (the Sun within 15ยฐ of Saturn): from about 21 March to 25 April.
  • By visibility (Tara Asta, when Saturn actually disappears in the Sun's glare and reappears): it sets on 26 March and rises again on 5 May.

So panchangs can show different Shani asta dates; the difference comes from the criteria used, not an error. A combust Saturn works less visibly: its lessons of patience and duty continue, but recognition for hard work tends to come later. The Sun and Saturn together are not friends, so tensions with authority, a boss or the father are common themes. Saturn leaves Pisces for Aries on 3 June 2027; see Shani Gochar 2027.

Venus enters Aquarius (21 March)

Venus moves from Capricorn into Aquarius on 21 March. Venus is comfortable in both of Saturn's signs, and in Aquarius it favours friendships, groups and unconventional ideas in love and art. It enters Pisces, its sign of exaltation, on 15 April.

What it means for each rashi

Transits are read by house from your Moon sign. The table shows the house Mars (in Cancer from 9 Mar) and the Sun (in Pisces from 15 Mar) occupy for each rashi. Mars gives good results in the 3rd, 6th and 11th houses from the Moon; the Sun in the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th. A โœ“ marks a favourable house.

Rashi Mars in Cancer Sun in Pisces Short reading
Mesh 4th 12th Restless at home; rest and expenses need care
Vrishabh 3rd โœ“ 11th โœ“ Courage and gains both supported by these transits
Mithun 2nd 10th โœ“ Career recognition; mind your words and money
Kark 1st 9th Mars on your sign: channel energy, avoid anger; exalted Jupiter offers support
Singh 12th 8th A quieter month; avoid risks and late nights
Kanya 11th โœ“ 7th Gains through effort; patience in partnerships
Tula 10th 6th โœ“ Career pressure, but you can beat competition
Vrishchik 9th 5th Avoid disputes with elders; think before speculating
Dhanu 8th 4th Slow down; home matters need attention
Makar 7th 3rd โœ“ Initiative pays; keep partnerships calm
Kumbh 6th โœ“ 2nd Win over obstacles; watch spending
Meen 5th 1st The Sun joins Saturn on your sign: steady effort, avoid ego clashes

This is a general guide. Your dasha decides which transits you'll feel most.

When does Mars enter Cancer in 2027? Mars, retrograde, moves back into Cancer late on 9 March 2027, at about 11:50 pm IST (some calendars show 10 March). It turns direct there on 1 April and returns to Leo on 26 April.

When is Kharmas in March 2027? From 15 March, when the Sun enters Pisces, to 14 April 2027, when it enters Aries. Weddings and other auspicious beginnings are traditionally avoided in this month.

When is Saturn combust in 2027? Around the Sun's meeting with Saturn on 7 April, in Pisces. By the 15ยฐ rule it is combust from about 21 March to 25 April 2027; by visibility (Tara Asta) it sets on 26 March and rises again on 5 May. Panchangs differ because they use different criteria.

Is March 2027 good for marriage? The first half of March falls before Kharmas begins on 15 March, and Venus and Jupiter are not combust. That doesn't make every date auspicious: each must still be checked against the local panchang's tithi, nakshatra and other muhurat rules, and the couple's kundlis. From 15 March to 14 April, weddings are traditionally avoided. Check exact dates in the Muhurat Finder.

Which rashis benefit most in March 2027? From these transits, Vrishabh (Mars in the 3rd, the Sun in the 11th) is supported by both planets. Kanya (Mars in the 11th) and Kumbh (Mars in the 6th) are helped by Mars; Mithun (10th), Tula (6th) and Makar (3rd) by the Sun. Other planets and your own dasha can change the picture.
