Your Janam Kundli, explained

This free Kundli calculates your Vedic birth chart from your date, time and place of birth. You get your Lagna (Ascendant), Rashi (Moon sign), Nakshatra, Tithi and Yoga, the D1 birth chart, the D9 Navamsa and D10 Dashamsa divisional charts, every planet's sign, degree, house and nakshatra, and your Vimshottari dasha from birth with the balance at birth.

The life timeline shows every Mahadasha of your life as a coloured bar with a marker for today, and the "Running now" cards show your current Vimshottari, Yogini and Chara periods side by side. Print the whole Kundli on a single A4 page or save it as a PDF.

Want to know what it means for your career, marriage or money? Ask the AI astrologer: it reads this exact chart and shows where the three dasha systems agree. New accounts get ₹50 free credit.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Kundli (Janam Kundli)?

A Kundli is your Vedic birth chart: the positions of the Sun, Moon, planets, Rahu and Ketu in the twelve signs and houses at the moment and place you were born. Vedic astrology reads it with the sidereal zodiac.

What details do I need to make a free Kundli?

Your date of birth, time of birth and place of birth. If you don't know the exact time, tick “I don't know my birth time”: the chart is calculated for 12:00, and the Moon sign and Nakshatra are usually still right, but the Lagna and houses may not be.

What are Lagna, Rashi and Nakshatra?

Lagna (Ascendant) is the sign rising in the east at birth and sets up the twelve houses. Rashi is your Moon sign. Nakshatra is the lunar mansion (one of 27) the Moon occupied at birth; it also decides which Vimshottari dasha you were born into.

What are the D9 (Navamsa) and D10 (Dashamsa) charts?

They are divisional charts. The D9 divides each sign into nine parts and is read for marriage, partnership and the overall strength of planets. The D10 divides each sign into ten parts and is read for career and public life.

What is the Vimshottari dasha and the dasha balance at birth?

Vimshottari is a 120-year sequence of planetary periods (Mahadashas), each split into Antardashas and Pratyantardashas. You are born part-way through one Mahadasha, set by the Moon's nakshatra; the time left in it is the dasha balance at birth.

Which ayanamsa do you use?

The chart engine uses the True Chitra Paksha ayanamsa. Some printed kundlis use Lahiri, which can move dasha dates by a few days to a few weeks. See the methodology page for details.

Is my birth data saved?

No. The free Kundli is calculated on the spot and nothing is stored. If you later create an account, your birth details are saved only to personalise your readings.

North Indian or South Indian chart?

Both show the same chart. North Indian fixes the houses (Lagna at the top), South Indian fixes the signs. Use the switch above the charts to change the style.
