- It moves fast: the Moon changes sign about every 2¼ days and nakshatra about once a day, so the date alone is not always enough.
- It is not your Sun sign: the Sun sign changes about once a month and is what most Western horoscopes use.

Is the Moon sign the same as the Lagna?
No. The Lagna is the sign rising in the east at birth and changes about every 2 hours. The Moon sign is where the Moon was. You need the exact time and place for the Lagna.
