Jupiter (Guru) leaves Cancer and enters Leo (Singh) on 31 October 2026. But this first visit is short: Jupiter turns retrograde on 13 December after moving less than 3° into Leo, slips back into Cancer on 25 January 2027, and only returns to Leo for its main transit on 26 June 2027. Why the transit comes in two parts
Jupiter usually spends about a year in each sign. This time it reaches the start of Leo during a fast phase, then turns retrograde almost immediately. The result:
- 31 Oct 2026 – 25 Jan 2027: a short first taste of Jupiter in Leo, only in its first three degrees.
- 25 Jan – 26 Jun 2027: Jupiter is back in Cancer, its exaltation sign, where it is at its strongest.
- 26 Jun – 26 Nov 2027: the main Leo transit, five months long.
So for most people, the themes below appear briefly this winter and return in full from late June 2027. Read your rashi's section with both windows in mind.
Jupiter in Leo: what kind of transit is it?
Leo is ruled by the Sun, a natural friend of Jupiter, so Jupiter is comfortable here. Jupiter in Leo highlights confidence, leadership, children and creativity, teachers and mentors, and generosity. From Leo, Jupiter aspects Sagittarius (5th), Aquarius (7th) and Aries (9th), blessing those signs too.
Until 5 December, Jupiter shares Leo with Ketu. A Guru–Ketu conjunction is classically a spiritual combination: it favours study, pilgrimage, research and letting go, more than material gains. From 12 November, Mars also joins Leo, adding energy and drive (see Planetary Transits in November 2026).
How transit results are read
Classical texts judge Jupiter's transit by the house it occupies counted from your Moon sign. Jupiter gives good results in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th houses from the Moon, and mixed or testing results in the others. A transit only colours the period: your dasha decides how strongly it shows. If you know your Lagna, read the section for your Lagna sign too.

Mesh (Aries): 5th house, favourable
Jupiter moves from your 4th house to your 5th, one of its best positions. Children, studies, creative work, romance and good advice all get support. Vrishabh (Taurus): 4th house, mixed
Jupiter moves from your 3rd to your 4th house. Matters of home, property, vehicles and your mother come into focus. They can grow, but with responsibilities and some unsettledness at home. Take property decisions slowly. Jupiter's aspect on your 10th and 8th from here supports career wisdom and research.
Mithun (Gemini): 3rd house, needs effort
Jupiter leaves your 2nd house of money and family for the 3rd. Classically this asks for effort: short travel, paperwork, and dealings with siblings and neighbours take more energy. Communication and skills can still grow. Jupiter aspects your 7th, 9th and 11th, which helps partnerships, luck and gains, so effort pays.
Kark (Cancer): 2nd house, favourable
Jupiter leaves your own sign for your 2nd house: wealth, family and speech. This is a good transit for savings, family events and earning through knowledge. When Jupiter returns to Cancer from January to June 2027, it is exalted in your sign again, which makes 2026–27 one of your strongest Jupiter periods.
Singh (Leo): 1st house, mixed
Jupiter enters your own sign. Classically, Jupiter over the Moon is not counted among its best positions: it can bring restlessness, expenses or moves. But it also brings growth, optimism and visibility, and it aspects your 5th, 7th and 9th: children, marriage and luck. With Ketu here until 5 December, the start is reflective. Kanya (Virgo): 12th house, mixed
Jupiter moves from your 11th house of gains to your 12th. Expect more spending, much of it on good causes, travel, family or spiritual pursuits. Foreign links and retreats are favoured; impulsive purchases are not. The 11th-house gains come back while Jupiter is in Cancer from January to June 2027. See Kanya Rashi in English.
Tula (Libra): 11th house, favourable
Jupiter moves from your 10th house to your 11th, one of its best positions: income, gains, fulfilled wishes and helpful friends and elder siblings. It's a good time for networking and for goals you've worked towards. See Tula Rashifal 2027.
Vrishchik (Scorpio): 10th house, mixed
Jupiter moves from your 9th house to your 10th. Career gets attention: new responsibilities, a change of role, or pressure to prove yourself. Classically the 10th isn't Jupiter's easiest transit house, but it rewards ethical, steady work. Its aspects on your 2nd, 4th and 6th support income, home and the ability to handle competition.
Dhanu (Sagittarius): 9th house, favourable
Jupiter, your sign lord, moves from your 8th house to your 9th, and it aspects your own sign. After a testing 8th-house period, luck, teachers, higher learning, long travel and faith return. This is one of the best transits of the cycle for you. See Dhanu Rashifal 2027.
Makar (Capricorn): 8th house, needs care
Jupiter moves from your 7th house to your 8th. Classically this asks for care with health, joint finances, in-laws and sudden changes. It also favours research, insurance, inheritance matters and inner work. Jupiter returns to your 7th, exalted, from January to June 2027, which is a strong marriage window (see Makar Rashifal 2027).
Kumbh (Aquarius): 7th house, favourable

Meen (Pisces): 6th house, needs effort
Jupiter, your sign lord, moves from your 5th house to your 6th. Work, health routines, debts and competition need attention; it's a period for discipline rather than expansion. - From the Lagna, Jupiter crosses the 1st house: personal growth, health and fresh direction. It aspects the 7th, where natal Saturn sits, which favours commitments in partnership.
- From the Moon (Kanya), it's the 12th house: expenses and travel.
- The dasha: Jupiter is the Mahadasha lord, so its own transit counts for more than usual in this chart.
Reading: the winter 2026 stint is a short preview. The full effect comes in the June–November 2027 Leo transit, when Jupiter over the Lagna, during its own Mahadasha, should bring a visible new direction, along with more spending or a move.
